Here you can find tips on how to decorate your room if you're stuck for ideas :) If you're a beginner and need basic help, like instructions on how to place items in your room, scroll to the very bottom.

But first, here are the steps to making your perfect room:

Step 1: Pick a theme
First, you need to choose a theme for your room. Are you a girly girl? Do you prefer sports? Are you a fan of gothic and dark things? You can have a different style for each room of your house, the Living Room, Garden, etc.

Step 2: Choose three colours
Choose three colours that look really nice together. All the items you buy for a room should be those three colours. Three is the minimum amount, but you can do more. Make sure the walls and floor of your room match the colours you choose. To know what colours go well together, have a look at the complementary colours wheel below; pick a colour, and whatever colour is directly opposite it would go well with it:

If you still can't decide on three colours, just choose your favourite colour and pair it with black and white. You can't go wrong with those two!

Step 3: Pick a style
Next, decide what the style of your room will be. If you're decorating your living room, you could have a living room (obviously) or bedroom. If you're decorating your garden, it could be your average back garden, or a magical landscape, a forest, a zoo. Your kitchen could be a kitchen, dining room, bathroom or a place to store all your boonies. Your party room could be a casino, a disco, a bar, a restaurant or an arcade. Th possibilities are endless!

Step 4: Decide what items you want to buy
It takes a lot of money and time to get everything you need to complete a room, but if you're going to get the best room you can you should plan ahead. Decide all the items you like, what colours they should be, where they should go, so that you know it will look perfect when you have everything done and you won't waste money on things you don't need.

If you think you can make money fast enough, feel free to add those things to your wishy. However, you may want your wishy for other things, and it could take a while to buy all the furniture, so you may want to just write down what items you want somewhere.

Step 5: Finish your room!
When you have all the furniture for your room, have fun putting your room together. Invite your friends to show them around, and get as many loves on it as you can!

How do I buy things for my room?

Go to the map by closing down all the things you have open, then go to the Shopping section.

Next click Items. In Items there are different categories of items, including Furniture, Props, Vehicles, Food,  Instruments, Gadgets and Garden. You need to click on an item to see it, and if it is an item which you can change the colour of, at the bottom of the screen will be some boxes to let you change the colour of parts of the item. When you have an item the colour you want, click 'Pay and leave'.

How do I place things in my room?

First, go to your room by clicking the icon of a house at the top. Then click the pencil button in the top right to edit your room. On the right should be a large black box which shows all the items you own. To place an item into your room, click it. You can then click on the item in your room to move it around, and click it in the black box to remove it from the room. When you've decorated your room the way you like, remember to save your room by clicking the blue icon in the top right closest to the red cross!

Any pets you have, not including Zoo pets, will be at the top of the black box. You can add them and move them around the same way you do with other items. If you've just bought your pet recently and haven't hatched it, there should be an egg there. Add it to the room, save your room then click the egg and click 'Hatch'.
